What’s going on between Shakib and BCB ?
CRICDOT DESK : Shakib Al Hasan is the biggest star in the history of Bangladesh cricket. If he is in the team, other players also get confidence. But in recent years, Bangladesh is not getting regular service of the world’s best all-rounder. He is taking leave repeatedly for various reasons. There is an injury problem outside of this. All in all, the country’s cricket governing body BCB is in a dilemma with Shakib.
He was knocked out in the middle of last year’s T20 World Cup due to injury. After that Pakistan returned to the series at home but played only one Test. He later took a leave of absence from the New Zealand tour citing personal reasons. He returned to cricket with BPL. He also played limited overs cricket against Afghanistan.
It was rumored during the BPL that Shakib did not want to play in the upcoming tour of South Africa. Because at that time IPL will continue. But later Shakib did not get a team in IPL. There is no objection to him not playing Tests. This all-rounder also agreed. As a result, the BCB announced the ODI and Test squad for the tour of South Africa without him.
But Shakib Al Hasan has taken leave again due to mental reasons. The cricket board has given him leave till April 30. The situation is such that before any one series, the only question is, will Shakib play? Even after the announcement of the team, the question remains. Because, he was also included in the team of New Zealand series in January. He later withdrew himself. The same problem again. At first, the BCB said they wanted to come to a decision. But in the end Shakib’s demand had to be accepted.

Now the question is, is the BCB being forced to accept everything that Shakib is saying? It seems normal to think so. He recently told reporters at the airport before leaving for Dubai that he wanted a break from the ODI series in South Africa. But will play the test series. He also informed the chairman of BCB’s cricket operations department Jalal Yunus about this. Two days later, the BCB was again asked about the matter. This time Shakib has asked for leave from his entire tour of South Africa and the BCBO has granted it.
The same thing is happening again and again. The situation is such that the BCB is giving Shakib leave whenever he wants. So the question remains, is BCB being forced to accept everything that Shakib says?
