Virat Kohli on the verge of losing ODI captaincy!
CRICDOT DESK : There has been tough time going for Indian skipper Virat Kohli as there has been no big score at bat for the last three consecutive years. He has not won any ICC tournament as a captain so far. Meanwhile, he left the T20 leadership to focus on batting before the start of World Cup. There were rumors in the middle of the T20 World Cup that Virat Kohli may be losing the lead in the other two formats as well. The Indian team is going to tour South Africa soon. Rumors of a new team have started circulating in the Indian media ahead of that tour.
Virat Kohli relinquished his T20 captaincy but did not relinquish his one-day captaincy. However, former coach Ravi Shastri’s statement fueled speculation that he would relinquish his captaincy in limited overs cricket. However, Kohli will not suddenly lose the captaincy. Because, Virat Kohli will not have to lose the ODI captaincy if he does not leave. According to Indian media, Virat will be the captain in at least the three ODIs that India is scheduled to play against South Africa.
After the T20 World Cup, rumors were rife that Kohli could lose his ODI captaincy. But according to the board, Kohli is not going to be in charge of ODIs right now. Unless he leaves on his own. That being said, if Kohli relinquishes the ODI captaincy on his own, it will be accepted immediately. But the board will not do that on its own.
