Two cricketers tested positive for COVID-19

CRICDOT DESK : Amid the ongoing new COVID-19  varient concern, Bangladesh women’s cricket team has played well in the ODI World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe. Unfortunately, The competition was suspended in the middle of the day due to the new type of corona.

The Bangladesh women’s cricket team has got a chance in the main round of the ODI World Cup for the first time due to being ahead in the rankings as per the rules due to the closure of the qualifying match.

In the joy of playing in the main round of the World Cup, sadness struck in the Bangladesh women’s team. After returning to the country, two members of the women’s team became positive for COVID-19 . They have been taken in isolation.

After returning home on December 1, the whole team went to the five-day quarantine at Hotel Sonargaon. Their quarantine was due to end on Monday.

The Women’s ODI World Cup is scheduled for March next year in New Zealand.

Bangladesh’s partners in the World Cup are West Indies and Pakistan, which are ranked seventh and eighth respectively. Australia, England, South Africa and India have already confirmed to play in the main draw with hosts New Zealand.
