Team India fined for slow over rate!
CRICDOT DESK : India won the first match of the three-match Test series against South Africa. The match was played at Centurion, known as South Africa’s fortress. The match is on December 26, 2021. It ends on December 30.
India won the Centurion, giving the Proteas a taste of defeat at home for the first time as an Asian nation. In all, South Africa has lost only three times at this ground.
However, all the Indian teams that played in the historic match were fined 20 per cent of their match fees. They have been fined a large amount for bowling at a slow over rate in the match.
The ICC has fined India under Section 2.22. As a result of this penalty, one point of India has also been deducted from the Test Championship along with the match fee.
Virat Kohli captained India in that match. Kohli acknowledged the allegations against his team over the slow over rate.
