CRICDOT DESK : It has been several years since Shahid Afridi withdrew from international cricket. However, the all-rounder is still playing in the franchise cricket league. The Pakistani star all-rounder is finally going to hold the bat-pad forever.
The upcoming Pakistan Super League is the last tournament of Afridi’s career. After that he will say goodbye to cricket.
All-rounder Shahid Afridi will play for the Quetta Gladiators in the last PSL season of his cricketing career, the PCB said in a statement on Thursday. Quetta has fielded Iftikhar Ahmed and English cricketer James Vince along with Afridi.
Shahid Afridi won the PSL for Multan Sultan last year. At the end of that tournament, he expressed his desire to play for Quetta Gladiators in his last edition. And that’s it. Shahid Afridi will represent Quetta Gladiators in the outgoing Pakistan Super League.
Pakistan’s Iftikhar Ahmed has joined Quetta from Islamabad United for the upcoming season. He has been replaced by wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan, who moved from Quetta Gladiators to Islamabad United.
