CRICDOT DESK : The tallest and most famous player in the Pakistan Super League, Shahid Afridi, withdrew from PSL2022 after testing positive for Covid19. He withdrew from PSL2022 on Wednesday, but on Thursday it was confirmed that he tested positive children at home alone, and he needs to be with them. The media house quoted Afridi’s sources as saying, “His wife’s relatives have died.

“The children of Shahid Afridi are at home alone. For these reasons, he wants to withdraw from the biosecure bubble,” sources added. Another Pakistani media platform reported that Afridi told franchise management that “he is suffering from back pain and will not be able to compete in PSL Season 7.”

An official statement by the Pakistan Cricket Commission or the Quetta Gladiators franchise has not yet been released. It is worth mentioning that Afridi had a farewell season in the Pakistan Super League. The long-awaited
tournament will begin on Thursday at the National Stadium in Karachi. The first game will be played between Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans. On Friday, Afridi’s franchise Quetta Gladiator will face Peshawar Zalmi.
