Sabbir Rahman plays destructive innings at DPL
CRICDOT DESK : Sabbir Rahman, who played for Legends of Rupganj, gave an explosive innings on the first day of Dhaka Premier League (DPL). Captain Naeem Islam did not go less. His great innings ended with 6 runs away from the century. Legends of Rupganj beat Gazi Group Cricketers by 146 runs at an average of around 300 with their bat.
Rupganj lost 2 wickets for 50 runs after losing the toss in the match held at BKSP ground number four on Tuesday. After that, Rakibul and Naeem’s 73-run partnership continued to lead their score. When Rakibul was dismissed for 46 runs, the pair broke up. Then Naeem hit fifty off 65 balls. Naeem gave another pair of 84 runs with Chirag who scored 48 runs. Rupganj captain Anik stopped the innings of 92 runs with 6 fours and 1 six. On the other hand, Sabbir Rahman gave an explosive innings of 42 runs off 25 balls with 5 fours and 1 six. Rupganj’s score stood at 291 for 6.

In reply, Gazi Group Cricketers were bowled out for 144 in 30.4 overs. Their collapse began with the departure of Mehdi Maruf in the fifth ball of the innings. After losing the first four batsmen in 45 runs, Mahmudul Hasan and Akbar tried to take the helm by averaging 49 runs. When captain Akbar was out for 29 runs, the pair broke up. Mahmudul has scored the highest 33 runs of the team. Off-spinner Sanjit and leg-spinning all-rounder Tanvir Haider took two wickets each for Rupganj.
