Papon throws fiery response to Shakib after South Africa series refusal
CRICDOT DESK : Shakib Al Hasan has refused to travel to South Africa, disproving the assurances of BCB chief Nazmul Hasan Papon. The BCB chief spoke to reporters on Monday. Anger fell on Pap0n’s voice about Shakib’s hiding.
Papon said, ‘Last night Jalal Bhai (Jalal Yunus) called me and said, Shakib says he will not play in South Africa, he is going to Dubai. Because he is not mentally and physically fit like going to Africa. I asked him, you did not say anything? Jalal said, “I told him to think for two days and then tell us.” I then told Jalal to tell Shakib that whatever he had to say should be given in writing. Not verbally. He is admitting to me that he will play, now he is saying he will not play. ‘
He said, ‘I heard him say again, he will not play ODIs, he will play Tests! It’s not new if he doesn’t want to go. I think he’s a little mentally disturbed. He took two days. Think a little. Let us know. Every player in the world has a dream to play for the national team. When the team wins and he is in that team then that will be a matter of great happiness. There, Shakib did not enjoy the ODI and T20 series against Afghanistan! He did not enjoy …. ‘

Papun said angrily, ‘We didn’t enjoy the ODI series we won! Won the first T20, did not enjoy it! Why? If he is off form then Baluk will not play. I did not enjoy the game after the end, why are you not interested? How is he emotionally disturbed? He would not have been able to play in the IPL if he was mentally disturbed. Suppose he was taken to IPL, then did he call himself mentally disturbed? The thing is not getting into my head! ‘
