Mustafiz-Shakib in highest base price of 2 crore in IPL Auction
CRICDOT DESK : The mega auction of this year’s IPL (Indian Premier League) will be held on 12 and 13 February. Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman, two stars of Bangladesh, have been included in the list of the highest base price of that auction.
According to ESPN Cricinfo, IPL authorities have compiled a list of 1,214 cricketers for the mega auction. The highest base price in the auction was 2 crore Indian rupees. The list includes 18 Indian and 32 foreign cricketers among the top base cricketers. Shakib and Mustafiz are on the list of foreigners.
The names of Shakib and Mustafiz were also raised in the auction of the last edition of IPL. Shakib had the highest base price of Rs 2 crore and Mustafiz was the second highest base price of Rs 1 crore. The Kolkata Knight Riders bought Shakib Al Hasan for Rs 32 million from the auction and the Rajasthan Royals bought Mustafiz for Rs 1 crore at the base price.
However, on the basis of performance, this time Mustafiz came up with the same base price as Shakib.
It is learned that 260 cricketers from different countries are on the list of IPL mega auctions. And there are 312 players who have not made their debut in international cricket. In addition, a total of 41 cricketers have been retained from ICC affiliates.
This time IPL is going to be on a bigger scale. This time the 8-team tournament has turned into 10 teams. Two new franchises, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, have been added.
