Mushfiq determined to win this years BPL Championship!
CRICDOT DESK : The eighth edition of BPL is being played on the field from Friday. Mushfiqur Rahim‘s Khulna Tigers are coming down on the opening day. Their opponent is the powerful ministerial group Dhaka.
On the eve of the main tournament, Khulna Tigers captain Mushfiqur told the media, “Playing in the T20 format is really challenging. And, our biggest league in BPL T20. BPL has a worldwide reputation. Quality cricket is played here, there are also quality foreign cricketers. Of course there is a challenge. Any team wants to be champion. We also want to win.
In this format, Mushfiqur was rested from the Bangladesh team after the failure of the UAE T20 World Cup. That is why this time Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is a platform for Mushfiqur to prove his ability. But he is not thinking about comeback or national team. Khulna Tigers captain Mushfiqur thinks now only BPL.
Mushfiqur said in Mirpur on Thursday, “This is a great opportunity for everyone, especially the locals. There are many games ahead, including the World Cup. The situation is not as good as before. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average person. Lots of great platforms for locals. Many people get good remuneration from here. Thanks to BCB, they are trying in spite of many adversities. I hope my team and all the other franchises will help me to finish the BPL well.
Mushfiqur has bigger team goals than personal goals in BPL, ‘Team goals are more important to me than personal goals. I became a runner-up last year, I didn’t get a century even though I went close to 100 twice. However, I have won those two matches. This is more important. This time too there will be such a challenge. I will try to lead from the front. At the same time I want to play match winning innings so that the team gets good results. We can achieve more party goals than personal goals.
Mushfiqur is the highest run-getter in BPL. He wants to hold on to this place, ‘Alhamdulillah, I am the highest run-getter in BPL. It’s a different challenge for me to hold that place. I don’t think about what will come in the future. Try for the team, that’s enough for me. Since he has signed me directly, I am thinking of giving him a reflection on the field. ‘
