Mujeeb Ur Rahman dreams a clean sweep against Bangladesh
CRICDOT DESK : Bangladesh will be busy in international cricket soon after BPL. The Tigers will play three ODIs and two T20I matches against Afghanistan at home. The ODI series is part of the ICC Super League. So no team will want to lose points here. That is what Afghan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who played for Fortune Barisal in BPL, said. He is looking to take points against Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is second in the Super League with 60 points from 12 matches. Despite being in the top five with 60 points, the Afghans have not lost a single match yet. That is why he wants to keep that trend in Bangladesh tour. Mujib said, “All the teams like Bangladesh or Afghanistan need points in ODIs. We have to struggle to win three matches. They will not leave.
The ODI series will start on February 23. Every match will be in Chittagong. However, the T20 series will be held in Dhaka. Chittagong’s wicket-taker Bora Borai has a run-delivery but the spinners get good benefits here. Mujib was the main weapon of Barisal in Chittagong phase of BPL. He gave only 3.6 runs per over with 5 wickets in 3 matches.
Therefore, Mujib thinks that the condition of Bangladesh is also conducive for the rest of the spinner teammates. “We’ve played a lot of series here,” he said. My bowling in BPL is very economical. We have a series against Bangladesh after BPL. We are quite happy with the spin condition here. Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet are very good wickets for us. Bangladesh spinners are very good. We have more leg and mystery spinners here. But they (Bangladesh) are playing very well. ‘
Afghanistan will arrive in Dhaka 10 days before the start of the series to adapt to the conditions. Rashid and Nabi will conduct conditioning camp in Sylhet. Mujib will join the team after finishing BPL.
