Mohammad Ashraful picks first ‘Fifty’ of 9th BCL
CRICDOT DESK : Due to Corona, Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) did not play last season. However, the game of 2021-22 season has started from Sunday. Two matches are being held in the first round of the ninth edition.
Two-time champions Walton Central Zone and BCB North Zone are battling at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. On the other hand, BCB South Zone and Islami Bank East Zone face off at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
Former national team captains Mohammad Ashraful and Imrul Kayes batted brilliantly on the first day of BCL.
BCB South Zone was named to bat before losing the toss against Islami Bank East Zone at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium.
Mohammad Ashraful and Imrul Kayes started the innings for the team. The opening pair of these two experienced cricketers scored 101 runs.
Imrul Kayes returned with 47 off 93 balls but Ashraful picked up a half-century. The first half century of BCL came from Ashraful’s bat. He played an innings of 81 runs off 120 balls. His innings was sorted into eight fours.
