CRICDOT DESK : Former South African captain Mushfiqur Rahim’s cricketing prowess has been praised by legendary South African cricketer Lance Klusner.

In 2016, Klusner worked as the head coach of Rajshahi Kings in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). This time he has come to Bangladesh to work for Khulna Tigers led by Mushfiqur Rahim.

Speaking to reporters at the Mirpur Academy ground on Wednesday, Klusner said he was looking forward to working with Mushfiqur. He is probably the most intelligent cricket brain and tough minded person in Bangladesh. It’s an honor to be able to work with such people. I look forward to supporting him.

In 171 ODIs and 49 Tests for South Africa, Lance Kluenzer took 5,472 runs with 6 centuries and 202 wickets in pace bowling. Mushfiqur Rahim scored the second highest 12,919 runs for the country with 15 centuries in Tests, ODIs and T20s. Mushfiqur led the national team in a record 34 Test matches. Under him, Bangladesh won 6 and drew 9 Tests.

Mushfiqur led in 36 ODIs and won 24 of them. The wicketkeeper-batsman took the lead in 23 matches in the short format of T20 and won 6 of them.
