CRICDOT DESK : The West Indies have summoned Kemal Roche with a team of 15 for the one-day international series of three games against India in February. 33-year-old Paceman hasn’t played white ball cricket on either List A or T20 since August 2019. Meanwhile, Fabian Allen, Nkrum Bonner, Darren Bravo, Brandon King, and Hayden Walsh Jr. are five other members not included in the home series. He played against Ireland.

Roston Chase, Gudekesh Moti, Jayden Shields, Devon Thomas and Justin Greaves were part of a team that played against Ireland but couldn’t make it to the Indian series. “Kemal Roach is one of our major high speed bowlers and believes that he needs a bowler in advance to get an early wicket. Kemar is certainly enough to play with an economic rating of 5. That’s what Desmond Haynes recently replaced Roger Harper as the lead selector for the West Indies.

“We want to have competition for places. We want to reach a stage where we have a lot of players fighting for positions. We want to broaden the pool of players we have to choose from. The team we have selected is a very good side and we are looking at this tour as part of the preparations for the World Cup in India in 2023.”
