CRICDOT DESK : The 15th edition of IPL will start from March 26. The final will be held on May 29. Before that, ten teams will face each other in a total of 80 matches in the league. The matches will be played at a total of four stadiums in Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra.

The rules of the IPL league for so many years were that each team would play two matches against the rest of the franchises (one at home, the other away). The top four teams in the points table will play in the play-offs. But this time the rules have been changed.

The BCCI said in a statement on Friday (February 25) that there would be two groups in the league this time. Group A includes Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants. Group B includes Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Lions.

Besides, their equal team in Group B will also play two matches against Chennai. The other four teams in Group B will play one-on-one against Hyderabad, Bangalore, Punjab and Gujarat.
