Indian Players Should Play BPL: Wasim Akram

Pakistan’s legendary cricketer Wasim Akram has said that Indian cricketers should play in at least two franchise tournaments in countries other than IPL such as Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Pakistan Super League (PSL) or Australia’s Big Bash.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram, who has taken a record 918 wickets for Pakistan, said: “When you play in leagues of different countries, one or both, I am not saying you have to play in all the leagues, it will give your players experience playing against other bowlers.” It will be a habit to play different wickets, different teams, different conditions.

In a conversation with Sports Three Sixty, the Pakistani star cricketer added, “I think India need to think again.” IPL is the number one league in the world, in terms of money, in terms of talent, that’s right. But they should give players a chance in one or two other leagues in the world.

Despite being favorites in the last T20 World Cup, India lost two matches in a row to Pakistan and New Zealand before the semi-finals.

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram said that India was the favorite in the World Cup. My guess is that after the Pakistan match, especially Shaheen Afridi’s first over, they could not cope. But then everyone was saying, they put more emphasis in IPL, their players don’t play in other leagues against other international cricketers. This is true because Pakistan and India are not playing now; Very few players have played Shaheen, Haris Rauf or Hasan Ali.
