The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the prize money for this year’s T20 World Cup.
5.6 million will be distributed among the 16 participating teams on a category basis. About 46 crore in Bangladeshi currency.
The team that wins the title of this year’s World Cup will get 1.8 million US dollars. In Bangladeshi currency which is about 140 million.
The runners-up team will get around 6 crores ( 8 lakh).
The two teams that were eliminated from the semi-finals will be given around three and a half crore (4 lakh dollars).
Separate bonuses have been set aside for each team that wins the Super Twelve. The teams will get 34 lakh rupees (40 thousand dollars) for each match.
Each of the teams dropped from the Super Twelve will get Rs 60 lakh each. Those who win among the teams playing in the qualifying round will also get Rs 34 lakh. Bangladesh, Oman, Scotland, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands and Namibia are playing in the qualifying round.
Four teams from the two groups in the qualifying round will get a chance in the main round. Meanwhile, this year’s World Cup will be held on October 16. Although it starts with the selection phase.
