CRICDOT DESK : Wanindu Hasaranga has a great life in the ongoing Lanka Premier League. He has so far selected five wickets from three tournament games. Mystery Spinner is the most sought after Sri Lankan cricket player these days. He gave India an unforgettable performance in the T20I series earlier this year.

With this, Wanindu Hasalanga signed a contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore at IPL. He played with the best players in the tournament. He also played with Virat Kohli.
“One day I want to get the ticket gates for my favorite cricket player Virat Kohli. I also want to choose the wickets of Babar Azam and Glenn Maxwell.

When asked about recent advances in international cricket, Hasalanga said he was always looking for cricket when bowling and was trying to emulate the great Muttiah Muralitharan and Langana Hellas of Sri Lanka.
“When I am bowling, I always try to take wickets. When I am in the national team, I always try to do my best for the team. That`s why I am successful,” he said.

The mystery spinner took 16 wickets in the recently concluded T20 World Cup and finished as the highest wicket taker in the tournament despite Sri Lanka not reaching past the group stages.

Hasalanga said he felt no pressure from the media compared to Lankan’s greats.
“I’m always motivated. I don’t feel any pressure. I don’t want to be the next Muralitharan or the next Hellas. I want to be the first Hasalanga,” he said.

The 24-year-old bowler acknowledged the Lanka Premier League’s achievements with the recent rise of cricket in Sri Lanka.

“Last time I saw a lot of young people doing a good job in the Lanka Premier League. There are always a lot of great players in this kind of tournament. This is why Sri Lankan cricket is better than it was years ago. That’s why these types of tournaments are always suitable for the growth of national sports, “Hasaranga signed.
