Harbhajan feels Ganguly is the best skipper of all time
Indian star spinner Harbhajan Singh retired from all forms of cricket on Saturday.
Since making his national team debut in 1996, Harbhajan Singh has taken a total of 611 wickets in 103 Tests, 238 ODIs and 26 T20I matches for the country.
“The difference between Sourav Ganguly and Mahendra Singh Dhoni is very clear to me,” Harbhajan said in an interview at the end of his 23-year colorful cricket career. Sourav brought me up to a time when I was nobody in cricket. When Dhoni took over the leadership, I got acquainted with him.
That’s the big difference. Grandpa had confidence in my skill, but I wasn’t quite sure if I could perform. On the other hand, Dhoni already knew I could perform.
The 41-year-old offspinner added that there is always a need for someone in the professional field of life who will move forward at the right time. Sourav is that person in my career. If Saurabh had not fought that way to get me into the team, who is to say that this interview might not have been given today. Grandpa is the leader who helped me become who I am today.
Harbhajan Singh further said that Dhoni is also a great leader, there is no doubt about it. Dhoni carried on the legacy of Sourav. I have won many memorable victories with Dhoni; Which I will remember forever.
