CRICDOT DESK : Melbourne Renegades leg-spinner Cameron Boyce made history in the Australian Big Bash League. The Melbourne Renegades star cricketer scored a ‘double’ hat-trick against the Sydney Thunder on Wednesday. He returned four batsmen to the dressing room with four balls.
Boys bowled in the seventh over of the innings and dismissed England’s opener Alex Hales, who had played for the Sydney Thunder at the end of the over. Hales made 44 off 22 balls before that.
Cameron Boyce then bowled Jason Sanga in the first ball of the ninth over, Alex Ross in the second and Daniel Sams in the third.
Cameron Boyce made history with four wickets off four balls. This is the first time he has made such a feat in the Big Bash. He is the tenth bowler to achieve this feat in T20 cricket.
Boyce took 5 wickets for 21 runs in four overs. His fifth victim was Matthew Gilchus. Mathews was dismissed in the first ball of the 11th over.
The Sydney Thunder scored 160 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs after the devastating bowling of Cameron Boys. Captain Usman Khawaja made 6 runs off 51 balls with 6 fours and one six. Ben Cutting made 20 off 22 balls.
However, the Melbourne Renegades, a team of Cameron Boys, lost the match by only 1 run.
