BCB shortlists Shaun Tait and Chaminda Vaas as bowling coach
CRICDOT DESK : The post of Bangladesh pace bowling coach is currently vacant due to the departure of Otis Gibson. Who will be the new bowling coach of the Tigers in that position, that speculation is everywhere. BCBO is trying to appoint a bowling coach before the next series.
A few days ago, former Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait expressed his interest to become the pace bowling coach of Bangladesh. That Tate is in the short list of BCB. Also on the list is former Sri Lankan cricketer and coach Chaminda Vass. In all, there are 3-4 coaches in the BCB list thinking of succeeding Gibson.
Speaking to media on Tuesday (January 25), Jalal Yunus, chairman of the BCB’s cricket operations committee, said: “We are looking for a bowling coach. We have 3-4 names in our short list. Not final yet. I hope we can make it to the finals before the Afghanistan series. ‘
Asked if any of the coaches associated with the BPL team are on the shortlist, Jalal said, “BPL can be either outside or outside. I am trying to bring the one who will be the best. Tait has already said that he is interested. Vaas is also on our short list. ‘
Jalal Yunus said the new bowling coach will have a two-year contract. However, the policy that the coaches want to work on is being discussed.
“We haven’t given a coach less than two years,” he said. Two years is definitely a long time. Otis Gibson was also on a two-year contract. I will give responsibility to anyone on a two-year contract. ‘
‘Most of the coaches now work in IPL or other leagues. We are talking about whether we will work full time or how much time we will work in a year. If anyone can work full time, I will definitely hire for full time. ‘
