BCB finalizes six team, have a look!

CRICDOT DESK : Depending on the practice of the national team in New Zealand, Bangabandhu BPL will have five or six teams. In Christchurch, the national team’s quaid test report was negative and the country was relieved. The BCB gave tokens to six BPL teams on the day the national team was allowed to take the field. Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Comilla and Sylhet teams got the eighth BPL.

The Dhaka franchise is jointly owned by Rupa Fabrics and Marn Steel. Delta Sports of Akhtar Group has taken Chittagong. Barisal bought Fortune shoes. They are in the tournament called Fortune Barisal. Mintry, an event management company, has taken over Khulna. Sylhet got Pragati Industries Limited. Comilla Legends Limited is back in BPL.

With the finalization of the franchise, almost all the teams have finalized the ‘Free Foreign Player’. The franchisees have also submitted the list to the BPL Governing Council. This time three foreign cricketers have been released. Although there are eight registration rules, only two can play in the match. With this in mind, the franchisees are organizing their teams. When the players are drafted on December 26, the ancillary work will also start. The tournament will be played at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka, Sylhet International Cricket Stadium and Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. Although BPL returned with a break of one year, the established companies did not show interest in becoming franchisees. Dhaka Dynamites has left Beximco Limited. Bashundhara Group was not bought by Rangpur Riders. The Jamcon group also showed no interest in taking the team. They did not agree to return to BPL for one year.

Although some of the regular franchises have not returned, the cricketers’ honor in the eighth BPL has been increased and foreign cricketers have been made equal. ‘A’ category or icon cricketers will get Rs 60 lakh. The honorarium of ‘B’ category cricketers is 40 lakh, ‘C’ category is 25 lakh, ‘D’ category is 16 lakh, ‘E’ category is 12 lakh and ‘F’ category is 5 lakh.
