CRICDOT DESK : Bangladesh won the ICC U-19 World Cup in South Africa for the first time. That’s why the dream of the youth was big this year. Moreover, the Tigers have played great in the last few editions of the tournament. But this time they have to return to the country disappointed.

Bangladesh are eighth in the ongoing ICC Under-19 World Cup in the West Indies. Rakibul Hasan’s side ended their World Cup campaign with a loss to South Africa on Thursday.

In the first quarter final, last year’s finalist lost to India. Then in the fifth place match, Pakistan lost by six wickets. The same result happened to South Africa in the seventh place match yesterday.

Batting first, Tiger Youth scored 293 runs. Ariful Islam scored a century. However, Bangladesh U-19 team could not win the match. South Africa won the match by 2 wickets based on the 137 runs of ‘Baby AB’ famous Dewald Bravis. Ariful Islam also scored a century against Pakistan in the previous match.
