Bangladesh beat India in 3 consecutive matches!
CRICDOT DESK : India U-19 ‘A’ team lost to Bangladesh in three consecutive matches. Tanjim Hasan Shakib and Mehrab Hossain’s bowling prowess at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday gave Bangladesh beat Youth a dramatic win against India U-19 ‘A’ team. Shakib-Mehrab with the ball, both took three wickets each.
Before losing the toss, batting first, Mahfizul’s 57 and Prantik Nowroz Nabil’s 72 made 230 runs on the scoreboard. In reply, India came down to bat and stopped at 224 runs. In this dramatic match, Bangladesh U-19 team won by 6 runs.
Ripon Mandal gave Bangladesh a flying start by batting at the target of 231 runs. He returned India youth team opener Harnoor to the dressing room for 10 runs. India, however, turned around in the second wicket partnership. But no big run came from 8 wickets. However, openers Raghubanshi and Yash showed hope of India’s victory in the third wicket partnership. Meanwhile, Raghubanshi hit a half-century. After adding 52 runs, Nayan broke their partnership. India lost another wicket to add 11 runs.
After losing four wickets for 115 runs, India turned around again. Aryan Dalal gave Raghubanshi a worthy company. Their batting hinted at Bangladesh’s first defeat. However, Ripon broke the pair of these two batsmen. He turned the match around by returning Raghubanshi for 6 runs.
In 190 Mehrab sent Siddhartha and Aryan to the toilet. That’s when most of the matches came under the control of Bangladesh. India did not give up even after taking 6 wickets. Sangwan and Rajangad’s 24-run partnership was peeking out the window of India.
They batted till the last over. India needed 6 runs in the last over while Bangladesh needed two wickets. Fast bowler Tanjim Shakib picked up two wickets off four balls to give Bangladesh a taste of victory.
