Alan Donald appointed as new Bangladesh bowling coach!
CRICDOT DESK : Former South African star pace bowler Alan Donald has been appointed as the new pace bowling coach of the Bangladesh team.
The former Proteas star will be working with the Tigers until the T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November.
Mostafiz-Taskin will be getting Proteas legendary fast bowler Alan Donald from the upcoming tour of South Africa. The Tigers are scheduled to arrive in South Africa on March 12 to play a bilateral series.
Former West Indies star pacer Otis Gibson has been the national team’s pace bowling coach for the last tour of New Zealand. His two-year contract ended last January.
After that, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) did not extend the contract of Gisbon. That’s why he got a job as a coach for the Australian county team. Otis Gibson was replaced by Alan Donald.
Alan Donald has played 62 Tests and 164 ODIs for South Africa. As a pace bowler, he has taken 330 wickets in Tests and 262 in ODIs. He was once the top bowler in the ICC Test rankings. He also played in English County.
After retiring from cricket, Donald took coaching as his profession. In 2006 he was England’s interim bowling consultant. He has previously coached England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and New Zealand.
