Al-Amin Hossain makes debut in LPL with two wickets!
CRICDOT DESK : As the only Bangladeshi player, fast bowler Al-Amin Hossain has made his debut in the Sri Lankan franchise based cricket tournament Lankan Premier League (LPL). However, he did not see victory in his opening match although he had taken two wickets.
Al-Amin is playing for Candy Warriors in the second edition of LPL. On the opening match, The Candy Warriors faced the Dambulla Giants on Monday (December 6). Dambulla decided to bat first after winning the toss in Colombo and The team lost 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 190 runs.
Phil Salt scored the highest 74 runs for the team. He hit 4 fours and 5 sixes off just 26 balls and scored 74 runs. Among others, Niroshan Dickwella scored 36 off 23 balls and captain Dasun Shanaka scored 24 off 18 balls.
Lahiru Kumara and Al-Amin Hossain took three and two wickets respectively for Kandy. Although both were expensive. Kumara scored 34 and Al-Amin 36 runs in 4 overs. Al-Amin hunted Nuanidu Fernando alongside Salt.
Candy collected 160 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Except for Al-Amin, the rest of the XI could not win the team even though they got the bat. However, Rowman Powell showed hope for the team by playing a stormy innings of 32 runs in 21 balls with 1 four and 4 sixes.
Besides, Sachindu Columbez scored 26 off 18 balls and captain Angelo Perera scored 24 off 22 balls. Nuwan Pradeep and Ramesh Mendis took three wickets each for Dambulla. Dambulla won by 20 runs.
