CRICDOT DESK :  Good news and vibes are currently pushing up Bangladeshi players as Despite Bangladesh’s defeat in the T20 World Cup, Mustafizur Rahman has spread fascination in this edition with his varied and brilliant bowling last year. His performance and hard work’s recognition came on Wednesday. The left-arm pacer became the only Bangladeshi cricketer to be named in the ICC Twenty20 Team of the Year this year.

But a day later, it was seen that not only Mustafiz, there are two more Bangladeshi stars in the list of the best of the year. They are: Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim. The good news that can add an extra dimension to the joy is that the best players of the year have got the most number of players from Bangladesh in this XI.

Surprisingly, not a single cricketer from India and New Zealand got a place in the Twenty20 team this year. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh and pacer Josh Hazlewood, two representatives of world champions Australia, were included in the squad but were left out of the XI.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka got two places each in the team of the year. Pakistan’s keeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan, who holds the record for most runs in a T20I, is not on the list. Another Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was also in the squad but his name did not appear in the XI.

However, Pakistan captain Babar Azam has led the XI in great form. Fakhar Zaman has got a place from Pakistan instead of Rizwan. Ireland captain Paul Sterling and England’s Marquette batsman Janeman Malan have been included in the opening.

Bangladesh’s two star batsmen Shakib and Mushfiqur have been placed in the middle order. Simi Singh, another star of Paul Sterling’s country, has entered the XI with a bang. Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and Dashamanta Chamira got two places.

In 2021, Mostafiz has taken 26 wickets at an average of 18.39 in 20 matches in International T20. He gave only 7 runs per over to the opposition batsmen. Mostafiz’s wicket is the highest among the pacers of the best T20 XI of the year.
