Umar Gul appointed as the new bowling coach of Afghanistan

CRICDOT DESK : Former Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul has been appointed as the new bowling coach and mentor of the Afghanistan national cricket team. According to a report by Cricket Pakistan, he will join the team in Abu Dhabi on April 4.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has initially included Gul in the squad for three weeks. However, there is an opportunity to extend the contract.

In a statement, Gul said, “It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to support a national team after coaching at PSL, KPL, LPL and domestic level. I will try my best to help the Afghan bowlers with my experience. ‘

Gul has taken 428 wickets in 237 matches in his 13-year international career for Pakistan. Gul has experience coaching at the Pakistan Super League, Kashmir Premier League and Lanka Premier League as well as at home. The ACB recently appointed England’s Graham Thorpe as its permanent coach.
