Five Bangladeshi cricketers, including Taskin, were on the auction list in the IPL. However, except Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman, the other three cricketers Taskin, Shariful Islam and Liton Kumar Das were not called for auction. Even if Shakib doesn’t get a team, Mustafiz will play for Delhi Capitals in 2022. When Taskin was released, Mustafiz would have been accompanied by Johannesburg. At the end of the second ODI against South Africa, Taskin learned that he had received an offer from Laksheth’s mentor Gambhir. The board confirmed the matter to him.

At the same time, both the parties were assured not to give NOC. When asked about Taskin by team director Khaled Mahmud Sujan, he told Bangladeshi journalists in Johannesburg: “The board will tell you. It was an opportunity for him. The biggest thing is that there will be a big test series here. Taskin is our best bowler. In form. We want to win here. We can’t show South Africa this luxury without their players. Honestly, winning our Tests is important. I don’t want to lose a fast bowler like Taskin. It feels bad for him at such a time. We also have to think about the country. The country is first. In the interest of the country where the country is above all, Taskin suppressed the indomitable desire to play in the IPL.
