Tamim much hopeful with Jamie Siddons


CRICDOT DESK : Jamie Siddons is the batting coach of Bangladesh in South Africa. The former Australian star cricketer has been the head coach of the Bangladesh team in the past.

“I have been working with Jamie Siddons at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium for the last two days,” ODI captain Tamim Iqbal told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday. He is a very honest man and understands the game very well.

Jamie Siddons was the head coach of the Bangladesh national team from 2006 to 2011. This time he has become the batting consultant of BCB. Siddons has been named batting coach following the resignation of Ashwell Prince.

In the four years under him, apart from winning several ODI series at home and abroad against big teams, Tamim-Sakibra made significant progress in the batting department.

Under Siddons, Bangladesh have won 2 of 19 Tests and 31 of 64 ODIs. Siddons came to Bangladesh on a two-year contract in the role of batting coach.

The Bangladesh team is scheduled to tour South Africa on Friday to take part in a three-match ODI and two-Test series. The Tigers will take the field in the first ODI on March 16. The first Test of the series will start on March 30.
