Sri Lanka on the verge of clean sweep by Australia!


CRICDOT DESK : Sri Lanka has been losing one match after another against the hosts on the tour of Australia. In the fourth T20 of the series on Friday (February 18), Ajira easily lost to the visitors with 11 balls and 6 wickets in hand. The Lankans have also lost the previous three matches.

With this, Australia went ahead 4-0 in the five-match T20 series. Hosts captain Aaron Finch decided to field first after winning the toss on Friday. The visitors were able to add 139 runs to the scoreboard by losing 6 wickets in the first 20 overs. In reply, Aussies lost 4 wickets in 18.1 balls and reached the victory port easily.

Glenn Maxwell has scored the highest 46 runs for the team. His 39-ball unbeaten innings included three fours. Besides, Josh English scored 40 off 20 balls and Ashton Agar scored 28 runs. Among the Lankan bowlers, Lahiru Kumara took two wickets and Mahesh Thiksana and Dushmante Chamira took one wicket each.

Earlier, Pathum Nisanka scored a maximum of 48 runs for Sri Lanka. Besides, Kushal Mendis scored 28, Charith Asalanka 22, Gunathilaka 18 and Chamika Karunaratne 14 runs. Among the Australian bowlers, Zhai Richardson and Ken Richardson took two wickets each and Ashton Agar and Adam Jampa took one wicket each. Maxwell was the best in the match.
