South African pacers choose IPL over Bangladesh Test series
CRICDOT DESK : Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Marco Janssen will not play Test series against Bangladesh. CSA has agreed to release them for the IPL.
The big question now is whether to choose the country or the IPL. The cricketers are giving priority to this tournament by excluding the country’s game in the IPL. This is not new for South African cricketers.
This time again, the South African cricketers who got a team in the IPL faced that difficult situation. Elgar, the Test captain of the Proteas, left it up to the cricketers to decide whether to play a Test against Bangladesh or an IPL.
But in the end, not the Test series, the IPL will be played by the team’s star pacers Rabada, Jansen and Ngidi. This has been reported in a report of Cricinfo. Cricket South Africa official said,
“The main agreement with the BCCI was that we would release our players for the IPL. But the IPL window has widened and our contract has remained the same. ”
De Cock, who said goodbye to Test cricket, is out of the discussion. Of course, this has happened before. Proteas cricketers went to play in the IPL during the series against Pakistan. As a result, Tumul was the victim of criticism at that time.
They will play a three-match ODI series even if they do not play a Test series. The three-match ODI series between Bangladesh and South Africa will start on March 16. The first Test of the two-match series will be held on March 31 at the end of the ODI series. However, the IPL will start from March 26.
Sipamla and Lizad Williams will lead the pace attack against Bangladesh as there are no star pacers like Rabada, NGD, Johnson.
