Smith supremacy continues, surpasses Sachin-Sangakara


CRICDOT DESK : Aussie batsman Steve Smith was dismissed for 16 off 26 balls in the second innings of the third and final Test in Lahore. Smith has set a record in this short innings. The right-handed batsman completed 6,000 runs in the shortest innings of the Test.

Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara has so far held the record of scoring 6,000 Test runs in the shortest innings.

In 2010, Sangakkara completed his 6,000 runs against India in Colombo. For this Sangakkara had to play 152 innings. Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar completed 6,000 Test runs in 154 innings. Former India captain Virat Kohli has scored 6,000 runs in 189 Test innings. Steve Smith reached the milestone of 6,000 runs in 151 Test innings.

Smith was 7,000 to 8 runs away when he went down to bat against Pakistan today. With 18 runs, Smith’s total Test runs are now 8010.
