Shoriful to replace Mark Wood at IPL ?
CRICDOT DESK : The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just 4 days away. Lucknow Super Giants, the newcomers of the tournament, are in trouble at such a moment. They are not getting Mark Wood, one of the weapons of the team’s pace attack, bought for Rs 7.5 crore due to injury.
Wood injured his right elbow in the first Test against the West Indies last week. After checking his X-ray report, the doctors said that it would take a few weeks for the England star to recover. In other words, this year’s IPL is the pacer’s ground.
The franchise has been looking for Wood’s alternative since hearing such news.
Former Indian cricketer and popular commentator Akash Chopra gave a great suggestion to Lucknow in this situation. He asked Bangladesh left-arm pacer Shariful Islam to take Wood as an alternative.
Akash Chopra explains why he likes Shariful instead of Wood. He said on his YouTube channel that Shariful has bowled well in the last BPL. The batsmen have taken a tough test. Originally made great balls in the slog over. Controlled, eight-run bowling tied the run. Has beaten regular batters. He can also take wickets consistently. As a result, he could be a good alternative to Wood.
