Shakib have to play Test if he wants to be at contract: Papon
CRICDOT DESK : Shakib Al Hasan’s Test match during the tour of South Africa was foggy. There were rumors that Shakib would not play Test for the next 6 months.
BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon himself removed the fog created by Shakib. The BCB president put an end to all speculations about Shakib in the Afghanistan series.
He told the media on Monday that Shakib Al Hasan is in the Test squad against the Proteas.
After the third Afghanistan-Bangladesh ODI match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, Papon said Shakib had applied for leave to play in the IPL. Since he didn’t get the team there. So he was asked again if he could play now. He later confirmed that he would play against South Africa.
BCBBS said that they have also talked to Shakib about the matter. Shakib is interested. To play Tests against Africa.

“I told Shakib from afar today, I will sit with you after playing Tests in South Africa,” Papun said. “Whatever you say,” he said.
Incidentally, despite playing regularly in T20, Shakib is very irregular in the field of Test cricket. Shakib has played only 30 percent of Tests since his tour of South Africa in 2016. Injuries, bans, IPL and holidays are the reasons for Shakib’s absence in Tests.
Shakib did not want to go to South Africa in March with plans to join the IPL. Before the IPL auction, Shakib had written to the BCB not to keep him in the XI.
But this time Shakib has not been bought by any IPL franchise, i.e. the 15th edition of IPL is not being played by this country’s best all-rounder. That is why Shakib thinks it is better to wear the white jersey of the national team in March.
