Senior cricketers spoiling the team once again: Papon

CRICDOT DESK : Before Bangladesh’s tour of South Africa, Russell Domingo’s position as coach was shaky. The Proteas coach received a direct question from reporters, “Is this your last tour of South Africa?” Although Domingo avoided that question.

However, Domingo’s position was strengthened once again by winning the historic ODI series in South Africa. But in the second innings in Durban, Muminul lost by a big margin due to batting disaster. The Tigers lost 6 wickets in 55 minutes on the last day and were reduced to 53 runs.

The decision to toss came up first in the analysis of this match. The Bangladesh team decided to field first after getting some luck in their favor. However, the team’s South African head coach Russell Domingo and pace bowling coach Alan Donald said to bat first. But the decision to bowl was taken earlier due to objections from some senior cricketers, said Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan Papon, who did not like it.

“I think after a bad performance we just try to make Domingo a scapegoat,” Papon said in an interview with CricBuzz. Do all cricketers listen to him? I want to know, do cricketers really listen to what coaches want to say?

He added that the cricketers who listen to Domingo are improving. I can write that if 15 cricketers are called, at least 11 will say Domingo is a great coach. There may be two or three who speak differently and do not listen to the coach.

The BCB president said, what is the benefit of asking those who do not listen to the coach? I need to listen to those who are working with coaches. When they come back, I will sit with everyone in front of the coach and solve everything.
