Rashid Khan appointed as Gujrat’s Vice Captain

CRICDOT DESK : Newcomer franchise Gujarat Titans drafted Rashid Khan, who was released from Sunrisers Hyderabad before the IPL mega auction. Today, Hardik’s Gujarat Titans will start their IPL campaign with a match against another new franchise Lucknow Super Giants. Earlier on Sunday, Rashid Khan was named Gujarat’s vice-captain for the season.

This information has been confirmed from the official Twitter account of the party. The tweet read, ‘Rashid Bhai is our co-captain.’

Rashid played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL from 2016 to last season. Before the five-year relationship with the Orange Army was severed, Gujarat recruited Rashid for Rs 15 crore before the mega auction of this year’s event. The franchise has also spent the same amount to buy Pandya.

The Gujarat Titans, a team owned by CVC Capitals, will start their mission in the IPL today with a match against Lucknow Super Giants. Rashid has the experience to lead in all three formats of Afghanistan, where the new South Asian superpowers have won one Test and one ODI and four T20s.
