Mushfiqur Rahim all set to play 100th T20 match


CRICDOT DESK : Mushfiqur Rahim, an experienced cricketer in the national team, could not play in the first of the two-match T20 series against Afghanistan due to injury. However, the wicketkeeper-batsman will be able to play in the second and final match of the series tomorrow. National cricket team physio Bayazid-ul-Islam confirmed the matter to media in a video message from Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

Mushfiqur will play his 100th match in the International Twenty20 as soon as he enters the field. The experienced batsman of the national team has scored 1475 runs in 99 overs in 99 matches so far in the International Twenty20.

Informing about Mushfiqur’s injury, the team’s physio Bayezid Islam said, “We did an X-ray on Wednesday after the ball hit Mushfiqur Rahim’s big toe. No fractures or anything like that was found there. So yesterday we kept an eye on him. Nothing unusual happened there either. Mushfiqur today batted in spin-pace two bowling in the net, throwing down. She is fit now. Mushfiqur will be fit for the last match.

Bangladesh and Afghanistan will face each other in the second and final match of the two-match T20 series on Saturday. The match will start at 3 pm at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
