Mashrafee will be appointed as head coach if he wants: Papon
CRICDOT DESK : Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon has revealed something special for the fans. The president said that Mashrafee bin Mortaza will be appointed as national team advisor or coach if he shows interest. He also said that the board wants Mashrafee with the national team.
Former ODI and T20 captain Mashrafee has not yet announced his retirement from ODI cricket, but his return to the national team is unlikely. However, as successful as Mashrafee was as captain, many favored keeping him with the national team.
That is why many have been demanding the inclusion of the former captain in the national team as a coach or mentor. Especially in the last T20 World Cup when Mahendra Singh Dhoni, JP Duminy, Mahela Jayawardene were appointed as advisors to their successors, there was a strong demand to keep Mashrafee with the team as a consultant or coach.
At the time, board officials said they had no plans to consult with the team at the World Cup. However, when the team’s performance is not satisfactory, the issue of keeping a prudent former captain like Mashrafee with the team is coming up again and again.

In response to a media question about this, Nazmul Hasan Papon said that if Mashrafee wants to come, he will be associated with the national team. “If Mashrafee wants to come, we will want to bring him,” Papon said.
However, Papun said that no talks have been held with Mashrafee so far. “There has been no such discussion so far,” he said.
