KL Rahul set to join new IPL team with huge salary
CRICDOT DESK : Lokesh Rahul can leave Punjab Kings for a new franchise in the upcoming 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with skyrocketing fees.
According to Indian media sources, Rahul is leaving the Punjab Kings owned by Preity Zinta and joining the new franchise Lucknow in the 15th edition of IPL.
The franchises of IPL will have to submit the retention list to the board on Tuesday. On this day, all the franchisees have to inform which cricketers they are holding or releasing.
No franchise has yet officially released its rotation list. However, multiple reports indicate that Lokesh Rahul’s relationship with the Punjab Kings is over.
If the Punjab Kings release Lokesh Rahul, the Indian star opener may not be up for auction. Rahul has scored 659, 593, 60 and 628 runs in the last four seasons. Fascinated by his consistent performance, any team will want to take him.
According to multiple Indian media sources, Lucknow is going to be Lokesh Rahul’s new address in the IPL. According to the report of Inside Sports, the Lucknow franchise has offered Rs 20 crore to Rahul.
Rahul received Rs 11 crore from Punjab Kings. His salary could double in the 15th edition of IPL. According to the rules, if the Punjab Kings retain Rahul, he will have to pay a maximum of Rs 16 crore.
