Jamie Siddons to arrive Bangladesh today!
CRICDOT DESK : Jamie Siddons worked as the head coach of Bangladesh national team for four years. He returned in 2011 as the BCB had not renewed his contract. The Australian coach is coming to Bangladesh as a batting consultant after 11 years. He is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Wednesday (February 2) at 4 pm.
The BCB has appointed Siddons on a two-year contract. However, the field of work of the 56-year-old batting coach is not yet clear. The BCB did not say whether he would work for the national team, HP, ‘A’ team or the Bangladesh Tigers. His role is unknown even to Siddons.
The BCB, however, wants to use Siddons to make the next batter. In that case, his focus should not be more on the national team. However, there are rumors that Siddons may be given the responsibility by removing Ashwell Prince from the national team.
The Australian coach hopes that after coming to Dhaka and discussing with the BCB, his responsibility will be right. Siddons will enjoy the BPL match in Mirpur. He expressed his excitement in a video message after getting a visa to Bangladesh last month. Looking forward to returning to Dhaka, the coach wants to get down to work quickly.
