Imrul Kayes unstoppable with the bat at BCL!

CRICDOT DESK : In the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), Eastern won by 4 wickets thanks to Imrul’s responsible batting against Northern. Mahmudullah Riyadh’s all-round performance was in vain.

Mahmudullah Riyad, the T20 captain of the national team who played for the northern region, could not give the gift of victory to the team despite taking 6 wickets with the bat and 3 wickets with the ball.

Eastern won the toss and elected to field first at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Batting first, captain Marshall Ayub and Mahmudullah Riyad put on a pair of fifty and were bowled out for 216 in 49.5 overs.

Mahmudullah Riyad scored maximum 6 runs from 6 balls for the team. Marshall Ayub made 54 off 64 balls. Naeem Hasan took 3 wickets for 47 runs for Eastern. Tanvir Islam took two wickets.

Opener Pritam Kumar returned to the dressing room in the third over of the innings after chasing the target. After that Tamim Iqbal made a pair of 53 runs with Imrul Kayes. National team opener Tamim returned with 35 runs off 36 balls for the team’s 60 runs.

After that Imrul Kayes made another pair of 50 runs with Afif Hossain. Afif returned with just 26 runs off 46 balls.

Imrul made 55 for the fourth wicket with Shahadat Hossain batting at number five.

After that Shahadat and Imrul Kayes returned with zero runs. Shahadat was dismissed for 26 off 25 balls. Imrul Kayes, the irregular opener of the national team, scored a maximum of 71 runs off 61 balls with the help of 6 fours.

At the end of the innings, Suhrawardy Shuvo left the field with Allauddin Babu to ensure the victory of the team. Allauddin Babu and Suhrawardy Shuvo remained unbeaten on 16 and 15 runs respectively.

East: 36.5 overs 217/6 runs (Imrul 61, Tamim 35, Shahadat Hossain Dipu 28, Afif 26, Alauddin Babu 18 *, Suhrawardy Shuvo 15 *; Mahmudullah 3/56).

Result: Eastern won by 4 wickets.
