Harbhajan wrote on Twitter, ‘All good things have an end. Today I am saying goodbye to the game that gave me everything in life. I would like to thank all those who have helped make this 23 year long journey pleasant and memorable. Thank you very much. ‘
Speaking about retirement, Harbhajan Singh said, “There comes a time in life when you have to make difficult decisions and move forward. I’ve been thinking about retirement for the last few years, just waiting for the right time. I have long since retired from cricket in various ways, all that was left was to make an official announcement. ‘
Speaking to Kolkata Knight Riders, Harbhajan said, “I was not playing cricket regularly. But due to my contract with Kolkata Knight Riders, I have not decided to spend the 2021 season with them. I made up my mind to retire this IPL season ‘
Harbhajan has played 103 Tests, 238 ODIs and 26 international Twenty20 matches for India. He has taken 418 wickets in Tests, 269 in ODIs and 25 in International Twenty20 cricket. Harbhajan also scored 2224 runs in Tests, including 2 centuries and 9 half-centuries. He has scored 1236 runs in ODI cricket.
