England or India? U-19 final locks horn tonight!
CRICDOT DESK : England will face India in the final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup today. The match will start at 7 pm Bangladesh time on Saturday at the Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua, West Indies.
India is the most successful team in the Youth World Cup. They have played in six of the 14 finals, winning the trophy four times. This time they are playing the fourth final in a row. England is another elite country in cricket but not so successful in the Youth World Cup. They only played in the final once in 1998 and won the only title. They have reached the final again after 24 years.
Two days before the final, the Indian youth had a discussion with former India captain Virat Kohli. Kohli was contacted through a zoom meeting by VVS Laxman, head of the National Cricket Academy, who is currently with the team in Antigua. The Indian team got a lot of advice from Kohli, who helped the Indian team win the Youth World Cup in 2006.

The England team is also one of the strongest. England came back from defeat in the semi-final against Afghanistan. The main reason is batting disaster. They lost wickets quickly as captain Tom Prest did not get a run. Prest is the pillar of their batting department. So far he has scored 292 runs in this competition. Left-arm pacer Joshua Bowden took 13 wickets.
Rehan Ahmed is also in the English team. This England legspinner has surprised young cricketers. Its main strength is Google. Rehan is England’s main weapon in stopping runs. He knocked out Ben Stokes and Alastair Cook at the age of 13 while bowling in the English net. Today, Rehan is also dreaming of handing over the trophy to England against India.
