Didn’t see such formless situation in 8 years: Papon
CRICDOT DESK : Bangladesh cricket team currently going formless for couple of months and BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon himself has been extremely unhappy with the performance of the Bangladesh national cricket team. He said a decision on head coach Russell Domingo would be made at the end of the upcoming New Zealand series.
After announcing squad for NZ series, while speaking at a press briefing at the BCB premises on Saturday (December 4) he said , he has never seen such a bad performance of Bangladesh team in last 8 years.
It started with the T20 World Cup. Although the qualifying round could be passed somehow, the Tigers collapsed in the main round. After such a bad rate on the world stage, various criticisms started about batting, bowling and fielding.
Shortly after the World Cup, Bangladesh hosted Pakistan for three T20s and two Tests at home. However, despite the change of venue, the form of Bangladesh cricket team has not changed. The hosts lost all three matches of the three-match T20. Mominul Haque’s side then lost the first match of the two Tests by a huge margin of 6 wickets.
The visitors are also cheering for Bangladesh in the second and final Test starting on Saturday (December 4) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The BCB president suddenly got angry at the Tigers’ regular poor performance.
