Bhanuka Rajapaksa Announces Retirement From International Cricket
CRICDOT DESK : Sri Lankan batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa announced his retirement from international cricket on Wednesday, citing his family’s promise. Rajapaksa’s ODI career has lasted less than six months since the 30-year-old left-handed player debuted in July 2021.
He submitted his resignation to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), which posted the development on their website.
“I am very careful about my position as a player, his husband, and look forward to paternity and related family obligations,” Rajapaksa wrote in his resignation.
Rajapaksa represented Sri Lanka with five ODIs and 18 T20Is, recording a total of 409 runs in a variety of formats, including three in the 1950s. He is a member of Sri Lanka’s T20 World Cup 2021 team, scoring 155 runs in eight games and becoming the third highest scorer on the team.
