BCB wants official cause from Shakib for abandoning NZ series

CRICDOT DESK : After the ongoing series against Pakistan Bangladesh is all set to travel to New Zealand to take part in the two-Test series.  The two Test matches of the series will be played on January 5 and 15 at the Oval and Christchurch.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Saturday announced a 18-member squad ahead of the New Zealand tour along with surprise. Former national team captain Shakib Al Hasan has been included in the squad announced by the cricket board.

BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon told the media after the announcement of the team, that Shakib had told him not to go to New Zealand unofficially. However, the board wants an official letter.

Nazmul Hasan Papon spoke to the media at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday. At that time, Shakib was asked not to visit New Zealand.

“Shakib told me not to go to New Zealand,” Papon said. But he didn’t tell me officially, he told me not to go to New Zealand. I told him to officially inform, then see.

Shakib Al Hasan is a contracted cricketer in all versions of the Cricket Board. Still don’t want to go on tour to New Zealand. The board is waiting to find out why he is not interested in visiting New Zealand. Papon says, let’s see what he explains, because you have to give one.

The board president further said that if there was Shakib, he could have contributed in either batting or bowling. The team would have been balanced. And Shakib has no choice – I have always told you this. At the moment he has no choice.
