BCB to appoint power hitting coach

CRICDOT DESK : Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is looking for a power hitting coach ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup. Jalal Yunus, chairman of the BCB’s cricket management division, told reporters at a hotel in the capital on Sunday that the appointment of a power-hitting coach was on his mind.

Late last year, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the appointment of Power Heating Coach. Like Pakistan, the Bangladesh Cricket Board also looked into appointing a power hitting coach.

BCB has signed two new coaches in the last 3 days. Former South African star pacer Alan Donald is joining the Tigers as a pace bowling coach. And Shawn McDermott is coming in as fielding coach.

The cricket board has not extended the contracts of experienced coaches like spin bowling coach Daniel Vettori, fielding coach Ryan Cook and pace bowling coach Otis Gibson. There are rumors that physio Julian Calfeto and batting coach Ashwell Prince are on the resignation list.

Explaining the frequent change of coaches, Jalal Yunus said that in other countries changes happen after 2-1 years. If the team does not perform, many coaches are fired. England have fired their head coach Silverwood for losing an Ashes. No one will work in modern cricket for 3-4 years. You will not get a long term coach. After the start of franchise cricket, everyone had to come out of that trend. Now everyone is having a short term agreement.

“Everyone we’ve changed has worked for about two years,” he said. Then maybe not for personal reasons; Our aim is to make those who are coming to work better with the team.
