Bangladesh to set camp at Australia before T20 World Cup
CRICDOT DESK : Bangladesh returned to play in the World Cup in the United Arab Emirates last year with the disappointment of the collapse. Mahmudullah Riyadh’s team did not win in the main stage. The eighth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup will be held in Australia in October-November this year.
The BCB is planning a two-week camp on Australian soil to prepare the Tigers for the tournament. The camp will be held in Adelaide or Perth before the World Cup. Jalal Yunus, chairman of the BCB’s cricket operations department, said this yesterday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the World Cup preparations, Jalal Yunus said, “I am trying to organize a two-week training camp in Adelaide or Perth before the World Cup. There will be a pre-World Cup camp. Hopefully there will be a functional camp. ‘
Bangladesh will fly to South Africa on March 12 to play three ODIs and two Tests. ODI series at the beginning of the tour. The cricketers played ODIs and T20s in the recently concluded series against the Afghans. Many Test cricketers are training at the Bangladesh Tigers camp in Bogra. So BCB is also satisfied with the preparations for the upcoming tour.
Jalal Yunus said yesterday, “The Test players were not retired, we kept them busy too. The Bangladesh Tigers camp in Bogra has practiced well enough. That’s the decent thing to do, and it should end there. ”
During the ODI series tour of South Africa, the preparation of the believers will take place at Gary Carsten’s academy in Cape Town. However, the Test team cricketers will leave the country with the ODI team.
The director of the BCB said, “In South Africa, the team will be divided into two. The Test cricketers will leave Cape Town for Doha. Gary will prepare at Carsten’s academy. I think it will be very useful. What the game will be like can be seen on the field. However, we continue to try to prepare well. But we will not let it be too easy. We will try our best to play the best cricket. ‘
Some of South Africa’s top cricketers may not be in the series due to the IPL. However, the BCB has no thoughts about that. The main target of Bangladesh is to do something good against the Proteas.
