Bangladesh to get 95000$ as prize money from ICC
CRICDOT DESK : Bangladesh, led by Nigar Sultana, defeated Pakistan for the first time in the Women’s ODI World Cup. Bangladesh is getting a reward of 25 thousand dollars by defeating Pakistan on a big stage like the World Cup. Besides, Bangladesh is getting 60 thousand dollars for playing in the main round of the World Cup.
In all, Bangladesh is getting 95 thousand dollars, which is about 72 lakh rupees in Bangladeshi currency. Nigar Sultana Jyotira returned to Dhaka on Tuesday night after playing the World Cup in New Zealand.
Salma-Jahanara have finished their World Cup in the seventh position from the top of Pakistan in this year’s event. New Zealand is sixth and India is fifth. Australia lost to West Indies in the first semifinal. South Africa and England will meet in the final on Thursday.
In this year’s Women’s World Cup, the prize money has been increased by about 75 percent as compared to last time. The champion team of the event will get 10 lakh 32 thousand dollars. Runners-up team will get 6 lakh dollars. The other two teams that lost in the semifinals will get 3 lakhs each. The fifth to eighth teams will get 60 thousand dollars.
